NEW YORK, March 28, 2009 - The Leader to Leader Institute announced today the designation of 39 certified facilitators of Peter Drucker’sThe Five Most Important Questions Self-Assessment Tool. Professional coaches, business consultants, trainers and facilitators from four continents, sevencountries and 18 states make up the first class of certified facilitators to join the Leader to Leader Institute Facilitator Network.

Members of the Facilitator Networkhave completed an intensive two-day Training Program and have mastered facilitation of Peter Drucker’s “The Five Most Important Questions” Self-Assessment Tool. A list of Facilitator Network members is accessible on the Leader to Leader website and members will also be highlighted in the Leaderto Leader Institute 2009 annual report. Facilitator Network members will have authorized use of the Leader to Leader Institute certification logo on theirbusiness cards and marketing materials, acknowledging their training in the facilitaton of “The Five Most Important Questions” Self-Assessment Tool.

While the Self-Assessment Tool has been used for more than 16 years since its launch in 1993, the Facilitator Network Training Program, which took place April 25–26 San Diego, California, was the first in a series of two-day training workshops that provided a certification to facilitators trained by the Leader to Leader Institute.

By implementing Peter Drucker’s Self-Assessment Tool, certified facilitators help boards, staff and volunteers to enable organizations to lead themselves towards excellence in performance and innovation using the Drucker Five Questions Self-Assessment Tool.

Facilitator Network members are fluent ininstructing customers on how to appraise performance and set direction — even shape the future.

The first training program was facilitated by Iain Somerville, Cathey Brown and Carla Grantham, who presented Drucker’s methodology. The Five Questions are a simple, but powerful tool for organizations to align their strengths with what their customers value.

The mission of the Leader to Leader Institute is to “strengthen the leadership of the social sector.” We could not implement that mission more effectively than by training a cadre of social sector facilitators and trainers to use Drucker’s own “The Five MostImportant Questions” Self-Assessment Tool and join the Leader to Leader Institute Facilitator Network.
